Sinead Kilgarriff is a second year Specialist Registrar on the Clinical Microbiology training scheme, and is currently working in Cork University Hospital. She graduated from Medicine in University College Dublin in 2018. She completed her Medical basic Specialist Training and Membership of the Royal College of Physicians Ireland in Beaumont Hospital in 2021.
Abstract:
Carbapenemase-producing organisms have important implications for patient treatment, and infection prevention and control in the hospital setting. Increased rates of CPE in patients from Ukraine have been reported across Europe. This cases series describes four Ukrainian soldiers who were transferred to an Irish hospital for treatment.
